In 1992, Kathryn Inkinen parlayed years of professional experience in the field of human resources management into the formation of Inkinen & Associates. As President and Owner, Kathy employs her impressive credentials and exceptional skill set to ensure the delivery of superior services to clients of all sizes. Her professional background includes serving as the top human resource executive for a bank and at a five star resort hotel. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a major in Travel Industry Management and is a past inductee to the College of Business Administration’s Alumni Hall of Honor. Kathy’s commitment to the success of her clients has resulted in a loyal and expanding base of clients who count on her to carry out executive placement services effectively and discreetly.
Throughout her career, Kathy has made giving back to community a top priority, serving on the board of directors of several community organizations. She serves on the Board of the Red Cross-Hawaii Chapter, the University of Hawaii’s Travel Industry Management Alumni Association, the Better Business Bureau, HEMIC, Women Corporate Directors and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce. She is a lifetime member of the University of Hawaii Alumni Association, the YWCA of Hawaii and the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii.
Tea Giacomelli, formerly known in Hawaii as Tea Eslava, brings over 10 years of recruiting experience within large international corporate environments, as well as start-up companies. She has an extensive background in building and developing recruitment teams, specializing in process improvement project management, business development, client management and implementations, with specialties in leading, mentoring and managing high-quality performing recruitment teams. She has worked with executive search, senior level and operational level direct hire placements, including consulting placement at all levels. Tea successfully grew and developed successful teams to satisfy recruitment and organizational needs of companies within the energy, utilities, insurance, manufacturing, hospitality, financial and professional services organizations in the Hawaii and Metro mainland markets.
In addition to recruitment, Tea provides consultative direction to various departments within a company for reorganizational strategies and budget plans. Tea attributes the secret to her success in the industry to her genuine desire in helping companies find the right people, and the sincere pleasure in helping people find their dream careers. She truly enjoys getting to know her candidates and clients on a deeper level to ensure the most successful match.
As a senior consultant of the firm, Ann Katekaru’s vast experience in executive recruitment and human resources benefits clients on a daily basis. She joined Inkinen & Associates in 1998 and has more than 30 years of Human Resources management experience in the financial, real estate and health care industries. Prior to joining the firm, she was the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Bank of America in Hawaii. Ann received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned a professional designation as Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She is a Certified Representative in the use and administration of the Professional Dynametrics Program™, a personal styles profiling tool supporting employee development applications.
Ann is an active member of the community and re-joined the Board of Directors for the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Hawaii Chapter. Previously, Ann served for more than 10 years on this Board. She co-chairs the Workforce Development Committee and is also a member of the SHRM National organization. Ann is also involved as a member of the Human Resources and Education Committee for the Retail Merchants of Hawaii and the University of Hawaii Alumni Association. She has been a past Director of the University Clinical Education and Research Associates, past Trustee of the Oceanic Institute, and past Examiner for the Hawaii State Award of Excellence. Ann’s own passion for excellence continues to help to advance the field of human resources in Hawaii.
Having a passion for people and helping them find their calling is what Melody calls, “Aces in their Places”. With nearly 20 years of Human Resources management experience, Melody brings an enthusiasm for executive search and placement to the team. Melody has extensive HR generalist experience at both large and small firms, both locally and nationally. Her core expertise includes employee relations, on-boarding/recruiting, benefits management, payroll/HRIS, project management and coaching & development. Additionally, a trained analyst in the use of the Predictive Index (PI) System; a science based assessment tool which provides managers with accurate, actionable data quantifying the drive of employees.
Prior to joining Inkinen & Associates, Melody held the position of Executive Team Leader, Team Relations for Target Corporation in Boulder, Colorado. She was also the Director of Human Resources for TeamPraxis, LLC and most recently the Director of Human Resources at Roberts Hawaii Inc. Melody earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado with an emphasis in Sales & Marketing and Speech Communication. She is also a member of the Society of Human Resources. In her spare time, Melody enjoys volunteering with her children’s school and sports teams, is active with the PFA and enjoys traveling.
Cyd Shizuru brings extensive experience in sales, project management and operations. In her previous position at Energy Industries, she has worked with non-profit, for-profit, kama’aina and mainland companies, which has taught her the importance of listening carefully to her clients and working collaboratively to meet their needs. Her experience as a Business Developer and Operations Coordinator gave her the knowledge to assist clients in all aspects of service delivery. In addition, Cyd was an Account Executive at Hawai’i Home + Remodeling Magazine.
Cyd received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fine Arts and Graphic Design from California State University, Long Beach. She currently serves on the executive board of Ohana Arts Performing Arts Festival & School, is a member of WiRE, Women In Renewable Energy and the ‘Iolani School parent organization ‘Iolani ‘Ohana. She is a former board member of the Hongwanji Mission School PTO and the National Kitchen & Bath Association. She enjoys traveling and surrounding herself with good friends and family. Cyd gets great satisfaction when she “moves the needle” but gets greater joy when she helps others do the same.
The opportunity of living and working overseas, as well as in several U.S. cities, has greatly influenced Hilda Min’s career. Hilda brings over 13 years of direct executive recruitment experience for a variety of positions in a wide range of industries. She returned home to Hawaii last year after working for several executive search companies in Singapore, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida. By working in different locales, Hilda has gained expertise to understand varied company cultures and environments which has further enhanced her search capabilities. Earlier in her career, Hilda worked for Westin Ilikai Hotel, Hotel Hana-Maui, and the National Restaurant Association (Chicago), and also possesses direct hotel operations experience.
Hilda received her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii, with emphasis in Travel Industry Management and Human Resources. Since her return, her community activities have focused on alumni association and church. While overseas, she was involved in a multitude of association and community service organizations and hopes to continue to expand her activities and service to local organizations.

Remedy is a staffing company with close to 25 years of experience conducting business in Hawaii. The local franchise was re-established in 2001 by Kristi Inkinen Yanagihara.
